We love Cincinnati - and there is no better time to live here than right now. To those of us that call the Queen City home, it's no secret that the city is going through an amazing resurgence. Over-The-Rhine has quickly gone from one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the country, to the cultural and dining mecca of the region. The award-winning 21C Hotel chose Cincinnati as their second home. Horseshoe Casino has opened, bringing countless convention visitors and show-goers to town. The Reds have been selected by Major League Baseball to host the 2015 All-Star Game. There are three Division-1 universities in the metro area and two playoff-quality professional sports franchises. The Banks entertainment district has created an atmosphere worthy of our famed riverfront. Young professionals are choosing to stay in Cincinnati, and downtown living developments are booming. Craftsman and artists are making things here, and the Cncymade
initiative will bring them to the forefront. The city's brewing culture is blowing up - Moerlein, Mt. Carmel, Blank Slate, Rivertown, Rhinegeist, and more are brewing or will start soon. The CityLink center opened last November - an organization aimed at helping individuals break free from generational poverty. Add to that the traditions that are synonymous with our home city: Opening Day, Bockfest, Taste of Cincinnati, Oktoberfest, Findlay Market, Eden Park, Fountain Square, Music Hall, numerous arts organizations, and much, much more.
It was this sense of pride that led Dhani Jones and BowTie Cause
to create the Cincinnati Flag BowTie. Based on Cincinnati's official flag, the tie is a celebration of the city's recent successes. It's a conversation starter, and a very dapper one at that. The wavy pattern found on the flag - symbolic of the Ohio River - creates a sort of seersucker pattern. Also featured is the city seal, bearing emblems of commerce and wisdom, as well as the Latin script for "Unity Assists." Aside from looking good, BowTie Cause supports American manufacturers and the Cincinnati Flag edition is handmade in the USA.
As with all BowTie Cause products, proceeds from the sale of the BowTie go to a good cause. In this case, it's the very first tie that will support BowTie Cause's own charity - The BowTie Foundation. This new venture by Jones is aimed at serving underprivileged youth. Jones realizes how fortunate he was to have a great childhood, as many of his teammates in college and the NFL did not. Seeing how it affected some of his good friends spurred him to create the Foundation.
We can't wait to wear our new favorite BowTie. One thing that truly sets Cincinnati apart is the pride of its residents and the ownership that we collectively take in making a difference in our community. BowTie Cause, and the Cincinnati Flag BowTie, is a grand example of a movement we can all be part of. By wearing the BowTie and supporting the cause, you'll be building into the lives of our city's youth while celebrating Cincinnati's renaissance. Not to mention, you'll look good doing it.
